The intestines are where the fish continue the digestion process from the stomach. There are two parts to the intestines; the small intestines and the large intestines. The length of the intestine is determined by the type of food the fish eats. Fish that eat other fish have shorter intestinal tracts because the nutrients are easier to absorb. Fish that eat plant matter have longer intestinal tracts because the nutrients are more difficult to absorb.
