Human Artery

Arteries are a type of blood vessel inside the body. Most arteries carry blood away from the heart, carrying oxygen to other parts of the body. Arteries also play a part in the circulation of proteins and the maintenance of pH. They have a thick outer wall, a thick inner layer of muscle and elastic fibers, the endothelium, and the narrow central lumen through which blood flows.
